FAQs About Emsculpt

Body contouring procedures have come a long way in recent years. No longer do you have to go under the knife to get a slimmer, more toned appearance. There are now non-invasive and less-invasive options, one of which is Emsculpt. If you have an upcoming appointment for Emsculpt, you might have a few questions. Take a look at the answers below.

1. How does the Emsculpt tool work?

Maybe you have seen videos of patients getting Emsculpt treatment. The device is held against their skin, and somehow it magically triggers fat loss and an increase in muscle tone. Is it magic? No. What this device is doing is sending powerful electromagnetic waves through your skin and into your muscles. This causes your muscles to contract, over and over again. As a result of these contractions, your muscles become more toned and firm. The electromagnetic waves also cause your fat cells to release their contents. So essentially, you get increased muscle tone and fat loss as a result of Emsculpt.

2. How long does the treatment take to work?

You should immediately notice an improvement in muscle tone after your first 30-minute session. However, you will notice an even greater improvement as time passes. The area will become tighter in the days that follow as your muscles build themselves up in reaction to the contractions that the treatment stimulated. Your fat cells will also continue releasing more fat for a few days after treatment, causing the treatment area to keep shrinking. Within about a week, your results should be complete.

3. How many treatments do you need?

This depends! Some people are happy with the results they get from just one treatment. Other people need three or four treatments to get the results they desire. The more fat and less muscle tone you start with, the more treatments you may need. Practitioners usually recommend spacing appointments about a week apart. You do not need to decide up-front home many treatments you will have. After each treatment, you can assess your results and then decide if you need to schedule another one. Take it one treatment at a time.

4. Does the treatment hurt?

While Emsculpt treatment may feel strange as it causes your muscles to contract, it should not hurt! Most patients giggle a little when the treatment first begins. Emsculpt is a safe, effective option for those who want a more toned body.
