Extension Options For Your Wedding Day

Hair extensions will provide the illusion of thicker longer locks and can complement the wedding headgear, jewelry, and dress that you are wearing on the day of your ceremony. If you have never been fitted for extensions before, you should research bead, adhesive, and clip-in methods.

Bead Extensions

Microbeads are small, round pieces of silicone that are used to attach hair extensions to natural strands. Each bead can hold several strands of natural or artificial strands that comprise an extension. Natural hair is parted and combed, prior to looping some of the hair into the center of a bead.

Once beads have been attached to the crown or sides of the head, they are tightened. Because microbeads are tiny, they will not be detected, as long as top layers of hair are covering them. If an updo is preferred, a stylist will strategically form a bun or a pile of curls but will be careful that the microbeads are concealed.

Hair accessories can be used to camouflage beads, and some people who choose this type of extension may opt for a long style that consists of hair being brushed straight, prior to creating some voluminous curls along the back and sides of the head. Microbeads can remain intact for a few months, provided they are cared for as directed.

Adhesive Extensions

Medical-grade tape is used to secure adhesive extensions. Extensions consist of flat groupings of hair that may be narrow or wide in width. Many extensions can be worn to add dimension along the back and sides of an individual's head, or they can be placed strategically to add a little volume to sections where sparseness has been detected. Like bead extensions, adhesive ones can be worn for an extended amount of time. The adhesive will lay flat, making it virtually impossible to detect the extensions.

Clip-In Extensions

Clip-in extensions will be less expensive than bead or adhesive extensions and will provide the freedom to change a hairstyle on a frequent basis. Clips are attached to natural or artificial strands of hair, and they are used to secure the strands along the crown and the sides of the head.

There are even clip-in products that are designed to create a row of bangs. Clip-in products can be installed quickly and can be used to create long hairstyles or updos. If you choose clip-in extensions, you can leave them in for your wedding ceremony and reception and remove them soon afterwards.
